Subtracting:

put the two numbers you are subtracting on top of each other
line up the decimals and if there are empty places you can replace them with zeros
subtract as you would without the decimals, borrow if needed
then once you get your final answer, place the decimal under the place where the other to decimals were aligned on top of each other
CHECK- add the two bottom numbers together and you should get the top number if your answer is correct.

Adding:

put the two numbers you are adding on top of each other
line up the decimals and if there are empty places you can replace them with zeros
add the same way you would do without decimals
once you get your final answer, add the decimal under the place where they were aligned while you were adding
CHECK- subtact the two bottom numbers together and you should get the top number if your answer is correct

Multiplying:

put the two numbers you are multiplying on top of each other
you DO NOT align the decimals together, just place them as you would if you were multiplying without decimals
multiply the numbers
count the amount of places there are to the right of the decimal on both numbers
when you find the number count that same number amount of places on the total number and you have your answer
CHECK- divide the two bottom numbers together and you should get the top number if your answer is correct
