Summary: Large numbers are numbers that are larger than ones used in our everyday lives. Large numbers have many place values going all the way up, even farther than the ones listed above. Once you learn most of the place values, you will be able to do almost anything with large numbers. Large numbers are also a way of explaining an exact number of something until they are rounded. (The steps to rounding are listed below.)
How To:
Steps for Rounding Large Numbers: 1. Look at the digit you are rounding. (Ex: Rounding to the ten millions- 567,789,780,080)
2. Look at the digit to the right of it. (Ex: 567,789,780,080) 3. If the digit is less than 5, your number would stay the same, but everything after the original digit you are rounding becomes a zero (0).
(Ex: 567,780,000,000)
4. If the digit is 5 or greater you would round your original digit up, to the next digit, and everything after the original digit becomes a zero (0).
